Scope (Target audience):

This course is intended to provide all company employees and shipboard personnel of all levels, who require a general knowledge an understanding of the requirements of Ballast Water Management and Ballast Water Treatment systems as required by IMO Resolution A.868 (20) of 1997 and International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships Ballast Water and Sediment of 2004.

Objective:

After successful completion of the course the trainees should be able to:

  • Be aware of the IMO requirement of proper training in Ballast
    Water Management
  • Minimize the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms
    and pathogens. Develop and fallow a Ballast Water
    Management Program.
  • Maintain a record of all ballast operations.
  • Have a knowledge in operation with BWTS
