STCW II/1 OOW- Officer of the Watch module is intended to prepare the candidate to assume officer position on a commercial yacht pleasure craft less than 500 GT by imparting a thorough understanding of the topics.
Course Content
- Navigation and passage planning at the operational level
- Emergency procedures
- Ship maneuvering and handling at the operational level
- Cargo handling, stowage and seaworthiness of the ship at the operational level
- Controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board at the operational level
- OOW written exam
- Final assessment by means of the cadet training record book (oral assessment)
Additional Prerequisite
- Minimum STCW Master 200 GT certificate of equivalent
- STCW Basic Safety (VI/1-1,VI/1-2, VI/1-3, VI/1-4)
- – Personal Survival Techniques – STCW VI/1-1
- – Fire Fighting and Prevention – STCW VI/1-2
- – Elementary first aid – STCW VI/1-3
- – Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities – STCW VI/1-4
- STCW Security Awareness ( VI/6-1)
- STCW Medical First Aid (VI/4-1)
- STCW Advanced Fire Fighting (VI/3)
- STCW GMDSS (IV-2)
- STCW Rescue boats other that fast rescue boats (VI/2-1)
- ECDIS*
- Proof of sea service:
1 year of approved seagoing service on deck documented in an approved training record book.
Applicant must be pre-approved to take the course by Adria Libar evaluation committee. Please note depending or each case additional documentation may be requested.
*Applicants without an approved ECDIS certificate will have a limitation added to their CoC to effect of:
“NOT VALID FOR SERVICE ABOARD ECDIS EQUIPPED VESSELS”.
*Applicants without an ARPA operator at management certificate will have a limitation added to their CoC to effect of:
“NOT VALID FOR SERVICE ABOARD ARPA EQUIPPED VESSELS”.
Note:
After successful completion of the module, written and oral exam candidates will receive an Adria Libar Certificate for Officer of the Watch on commercial yachts or pleasure crafts less than 500 gross tons used for voyages within 200 nautical miles from a coast, as well as a Certificate of Final Assessment.
