Scope (Target audience):
The course is conducted in accordance to the requirements of STCW’78, as amended, Regulation V/1-1, paragraph 6.3 and STCW Code Section A-V/1-1, paragraphs 3 and is based on guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.04.
Course is intended for masters, officers and ratings serving on tankers who are required to undertake additional training and familiarization in accordance with the Belize requirements for Merchant Marine Personnel STCW Certification
Objective:
This course is for officers and key ratings, cover precautions for basic safety and pollution prevention, layouts of different types of tankers, types of cargo, their hazards and their handling equipment, general operational sequence and oil tanker terminology, it meets the mandatory minimum training requirements prescribed by regulation V/1 of STCW.

Prerequisite:
3 months certified sea service on chemical tanker
Basic training for oil and chemical tanker operations certificate

After successful completion of the course and examination candidates will receive Specialized training for Chemical Tanker certificate.
