Zadar, Croatia
Zadar is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on the Adriatic, with a maritime tradition that predates the Roman era. Situated on the central Dalmatian coast, the city has been a crossroads for seafarers for over two millennia — and today it remains one of Croatia’s most important nautical hubs, home to a thriving charter fleet and busy commercial port.
Our training centre is located at Obala Kneza Trpimira 52, on the waterfront promenade overlooking the Zadar Channel. Zadar Airport offers direct connections to destinations across Europe, and the city sits midway on the coastal motorway between Rijeka (2h north) and Split (1.5h south), making it one of the most conveniently positioned training locations on the Croatian coast.
Outside the classroom, Zadar’s old town peninsula offers the famous Sea Organ, the Greeting to the Sun installation, Roman ruins, and a vibrant café culture — all within walking distance of the centre.

Training Facilities in Zadar
Multiple dedicated classrooms with full AV capability support everything from single-day refreshers to multi-week certification programmes.
Navigation and bridge simulators include Transas Wartsila ECDIS and bridge simulation systems for realistic watchkeeping and passage planning scenarios. Zadar’s tanker operations programme is the most extensive in our network, covering chemical, oil, and gas handling at both operational and management level.

Can I take courses at different Adria Libar centres?
Yes. Many trainees combine centres depending on dates and convenience. Your training record stays with Adria Libar wherever you train, and our advisors can plan a schedule across centres.
What are your opening hours?
All five centres are open Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00. Course sessions may start earlier or finish later, depending on the programme; your centre confirms the timetable.
How do I enrol in a course?
Call any of our centres, send an enquiry through our contact page, or email us. A training advisor helps with course choice, dates and certificate requirements. We usually reply within 24 hours on working days.
Do you offer Maritime Cyber Security training?
Yes. Zadar runs the Maritime Cyber Security (MCS) course, a 32-hour programme on digital security awareness, threat identification and compliance for modern shipping. It is currently available only in Zadar.
Which specialist courses run only in Rijeka?
Rijeka runs several programmes not offered at every centre, including Shipboard Energy Conservation, Hazardous Atmosphere Training, Cold Weather Operations and a full tanker range. It is also the only centre for our Train the Trainer (TTT) and Train the Simulator Trainer and Assessor (TSTA) programmes for maritime instructors and assessors.
What tanker training courses are available in Zadar?
Zadar has our widest tanker programme, with 13 courses including Chemical Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling, Oil Tanker operations, VLCC Advanced Cargo Operations, Volatile Organic Compounds, Tank Inspection, and Liquefied Gas Tanker programmes at operational and management level.
