Scope (Target audience):
This course has been designed to meet the requirements of STCW section V/2 and is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.29, 1.41,1.42.,1.44 and consists of the following:
•Passenger ship emergency familiarization
•Safety training for personnel providing direct service to passengers in passengers spaces
•Crowd management training
•Crisis management and human behaviour training
•Passenger safety, cargo safety and hull integrity training
Course is open to masters, chief mates, chief engineer officers, second engineer officers and any other personnel who are responsible for embarking and disembarking passengers and for the safety of passengers in emergency situations.
Objective:
After successful completion of the course the trainees will be able to:
- organize the safe movement of vehicles and passengers
- when embarking and disembarking
- control all elements of cargo safety and hull integrity
- monitor and control atmosphere in cargo spaces
- organize shipboard emergency procedures
- optimize use of resources
- control response to emergencies
- control passengers and other personnel during emergency
situations - establish and maintain effective communication

- Introduction to STCW 95
- Loading and embarkation procedures
- Carriage of dangerous goods
- Securing cargoes
- Stability, trim and stress calculations
- Opening, closing and securing hull openings
- Deck atmosphere
- Ship design,layout, emergency plans, procedures and drills
- Optimization of resources
- Control response to emergency
- Human behavior and responses
- Establish and maintain effective communications
- Practical exercises (drills)
- Review and assessment
Note to client:
After successful completion of the course and examination candidates will receive a Passenger ship safety certificate.
