Scope (Target audience):
This course with an understanding of the issues created by volatile organic compound (VOC) emission on board a crude oil tanker. This course complies with the latest VOD training requirements in MEPC.1/Circ. 680, sec. 6.

Objective:
This course has been developd in response to recent amendemnts to Marpol Annex VI requiring tankers carrying crude to have and implement an administration approved VOC management plan. The course covers the purpose of the plan and the principles of control, monitoring and recordin VOC release.

Target Audience:
All those involved with the implementation of the VOC Management Plan onboard Vessel.

  • Introduction to the VOC emissions
  • Regulatory framework for VOC
  • Introduction to principles of VOC emission control
  • Tank pressure control and release system
  • VOC generation systems in crude oil
  • Methods and system for the control of VOC emission
  • Monitoring and recording of VOC
  • Hazards and Safety related to VOC emission control

Note to client:
An In-house training provider certificate will be issued on successful completion of this course.
