The Human Element, Leadership, and Teamwork (HELM) – Management Level course is tailored for senior maritime officers seeking to enhance their leadership and decision-making capabilities. Guided by industry experts, this course provides advanced training in managing human factors, promoting safety culture, and optimizing team performance in complex maritime environments. Through a mix of theoretical lessons and real-world simulations, participants will develop the skills to effectively lead multi-disciplinary crews, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with IMO STCW requirements. Scope (Target audience):
STCW course has been designed to meet the requirements of STCW section A-II/2-6 and is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.39.
Course provides guidance for masters and officers in charge of a navigational watch on the skills required for effective bridge team and resource management.
Program can be tailored to specific shipping company operations.
Objective:
The trainees who successfully complete this course will gain working knowledge of shipboard personnel management and training and will make a more effective contribution to the bridge team during ship operations.
