Scope (Target audience):
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to perform automated external defibrillation to victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
With knowledge and skill in the use and maintenance of an AED for boats participants can feel confident to apply an advanced chain of survival and provide life saving technology when needed most.

Course content:

  • Introduction to Basic Life Support (Basic Life Support (BLS) with a use of an AED is one of the very first levels of care for victims with cardiac arrest. Learning to perform BLS is an interactive process that requires both knowledge and skills and can be obtained by self-instruction and on-line virtual learning. You will also learn how to place an unconsious breathing victim in the recovery position).
  • Recognition of cardiac arrest
  • CPR – Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • An automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Recovery position
  • Practical performance training with an instructor
  • AED requirements and standards

Note to client:
After successful completion of the course candidates will receive a AED Course certificate.
