Ship Security Officer – STCW VI/5

Scope (Target audience):
This course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW section VI/5, requirements of the ISPS Code sections A/2.1.6, A/12.1 and A/12.2 and is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 3.19.Course is open to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer.

Objective:
After successful completion of the course the trainees will be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities as Ship Security Officer, identifying behavior patterns of individuals likely to threaten security, detecting weapons and calibrating security equipment and systems.

Sea Service Prerequisite:
12 months of certified sea service

After successful completion of the course and examination candidates will receive a Ship Security Officer certificate.
