Scope (target audience):
The course is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 6.09 (Training course for instructors). The purpose of this course is to assist training providers and their teaching staff in organizing and introducing new training courses, or in enhancing, updating or supplementing existing training materials, so that the quality and effectiveness of the training courses may thereby be improved.
Objective:
Objective of this course include the planning and preparation of effective teaching and instruction; the selection of appropriate methods of instruction and teaching materials and evaluation of the teaching and learning process.
Course content:
- Understand and describe how STCW 95 requires competence-based training
- Plan and effective teaching environment
- Use a range of teaching methods effectively
- Use appropriate training aids
- Produce a relevant lesson plan
- Evaluate teaching and learning
- Design a course of study

After successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Train The Trainer course certificate.
