Call for Entries: Eco Excellence Award 2026
Sustainability is more than an idea. It starts with knowledge and turns into responsible decisions and meaningful action. A responsible approach to the sea begins with understanding the impact our decisions have on the marine environment.
We believe that maritime and yachting education plays an important role in building a culture of responsibility towards the sea. Through STCW training, we develop the knowledge and competences that contribute to safer and more responsible operations at sea. That is why we are part of the expert jury for the Eco Excellence Award, an initiative presented during the Biograd Boat Show that recognizes products, services and initiatives contributing to a more sustainable future for nautical tourism.
The goal is simple: to recognise good ideas, encourage practical change and give greater visibility to those making a positive contribution to the marine environment.

The ambassador of the Eco Excellence Award 2026 is Šime Fantela, Olympic champion and one of Croatia’s most successful sailors. Through his achievements and continued connection with the sea, he further highlights the importance of a responsible relationship with the marine environment. Hear what our ambassador has to say:
“Not just words on paper, but a real responsibility shared by all of us who live by the sea and from the sea. I find inspiration in every initiative that encourages reducing pollution, responsible use of resources, and real change toward a cleaner Adriatic.“
If you are developing a product, service, innovation or volunteer initiative that contributes to marine protection and more sustainable yachting, enter the Eco Excellence Award 2026.
Three Categories, One Goal – Entries are open in three categories:
Best Croatian Product or Service by a Croatian Exhibitor – recognizing local products and services with a positive impact on the environment.
Innovation of the Year – open to Croatian and international exhibitors developing innovative and applicable solutions with a measurable environmental impact.
Best Volunteer Eco Initiative – recognizing individuals, organizations and volunteer teams actively contributing to the protection of the sea and coastline. We would like to give special attention to this category. People who dedicate their time and energy to protecting the sea are often among the least visible – and rarely seek recognition for their work. So don’t wait for them to nominate themselves. If you know an individual, organization or initiative making a positive contribution to the protection of the Adriatic, nominate them or encourage them to apply.
