Split, Croatia
Split is Croatia’s second-largest city and the beating heart of Dalmatia’s maritime economy. Built around the ancient Diocletian’s Palace — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the city is home to one of the busiest passenger and commercial ports on the Adriatic, with daily ferry connections to the islands and international routes to Italy.
Our training centre is located at Kopilica 62, in the wider port area of Split, easily accessible by local transport and just 30 minutes from Split Airport — the main international gateway for southern Croatia with direct flights across Europe. Šibenik is one hour north by motorway, and Dubrovnik two hours south, placing Split at the centre of the Dalmatian coastline.
For trainees, Split offers a unique combination of maritime atmosphere and Mediterranean lifestyle — from the Riva waterfront promenade to Marjan Hill and the legendary Poljud Stadium, home of Hajduk Split and a pilgrimage site for football-loving seafarers from across Dalmatia. Between training sessions, there’s no shortage of things to see, eat, and argue passionately about.
Why Train in Split?
Split serves the large seafarer community based in and around Dalmatia’s biggest city with a focused selection of specialist and certification courses.
The standout is the full IMO OPRC Oil Pollution Response programme — Level 1 (First Responder), Level 2 (Supervisor), and Level 3 (Senior Managers) — available exclusively at this location. Split also offers High Voltage Training at both levels, marine security and anti-piracy courses, and Boat Leader Licence programmes.
Training Facilities in Split
Split operates as a streamlined, classroom-focused facility designed for the specialist courses delivered at this location.
Dedicated classrooms are equipped with modern AV and instructional technology, configured for sessions ranging from single-day security awareness to multi-week OPRC oil pollution response programmes. Split’s position in Croatia’s main passenger port city means reduced travel time for the largest concentration of active seafarers in Dalmatia.
