In Croatia, Saint Nicholas (Sveti Nikola) holds a special place in the hearts of seafarers, fishermen, and maritime communities.
Saint Nicholas is celebrated as the guardian of seafarers and ships. In many Croatian coastal towns and islands, Saint Nicholas Day (Dan Svetog Nikole, December 6) is marked with processions, blessings of boats, and festive gatherings. Ports and harbors become places of celebration, where the maritime community comes together to honor their patron.
Croatia’s rich maritime history ties closely with Saint Nicholas. The country’s coastal economy has long relied on fishing, shipbuilding, and trade. By honoring Saint Nicholas, Croatians also celebrate their seafaring heritage and the enduring bond between their communities and the sea.

Every year, our training center proudly takes part in the Saint Nicholas Day ceremonies, joining in to honor and thank the seafarers who dedicate their lives to connecting our world.

On this special day, for all who sail, may his blessings guide you to safe harbors and calm seas.
Sretan Dan Svetog Nikole! Happy Saint Nicholas Day!
